Modern medicine and infertility


Today, many people decide to start a family after the age of 30. In most cases this is due to increased education and difficulty finding steady employment, a general trend that affects all industrialized nations.This is due in most cases to the increase in schooling, the difficulty in having stable employment and in general to a trend that affects all industrialized countries. This has led to an increase in couples who are faced with the problem of fertility.

The World Health Organization defines infertile as a couple that has failed to conceive after 12 months of unprotected targeted sexual intercourse. It must alsobe considered that fertility in women begins to decrease after age 35 and the the risk of genetic problems and miscarriages increases. The greatest obstacle with fertility in women is increased age.

Fertility problems are oftnen thought of strictly feminine, and are referred to m  specialists in assisted reproduction, hower it is important for both partners to undergo basic tests. The first examinations recommended by  doctors are the hormonal profile and a transvaginal ultrasound for the woman and the semen analysis for the man. It is also essential to for the doctor to know about the medical history of the couple's families for increased risk of hereditarz diseases

Thanks to advances in medicine it is possible to realize the dream of becoming parents with modern assisted reproduction techniques, Various options are available, depending on each individual case, including insemination, IVF and egg donation.
